During June, each year group had a visiting speaker from Solihull Young Carers who came in to address the students during assembly. This gave students an insight in to what constitutes a Young Carer and the type of support they can access if they need it.
"You may be classified as a young carer if you are aged between five and 18 and look after someone (family member or friend who has an illness, disability, mental health condition, alcohol or substance dependency or HIV/AIDS."
Arden are keen to raise awareness of Young Carers and the issues they face (there are over 175,000 young people in the UK looking after a family member who is unwell, disabled, or has mental health issues.
