Mr Martin Murphy

Chief Executive Officer

Mr Murphy read Geography at the University of Newcastle upon Tyne where he also completed his PGCE teacher training.  He taught in Northumberland and was then a Headteacher in Cumbria for 11 years before moving down to Solihull to take up the post of Principal of Arden in 2011.  He has extensive senior leadership experience and after leading Arden since 2011 is now Chief Executive Officer of Arden Multi Academy Trust.

 

Key Responsibilities: Policy and Strategic Direction of the Multi Academy Trust; Financial Accounting Officer; Personnel; Recruitment; Community Liaison; Facilities Management; Reporting to the Trust Board; Ofsted and School Improvement Priorities.

 WARWOOD D

Mr David Warwood

BSc (Hons) Sport & Exercise Science, PGCE, Special Ed. Needs & Inclusion Dip., NASENCO
Associate Headteacher

Mr Warwood studied Sports and Exercise Science at the University of Exeter before completing his PGCE at the University of Birmingham. He has followed a career in pastoral care and Inclusion ever since joining Arden as a teacher of physical education in 2004.  He has continued his own education by studying for a PgDip in Inclusion and Special Educational Needs at the University of Birmingham as well as completing the National Senco  Award at Edgehill university.  He is now studying for his National Professional Qualification for Headteachers (NPQH).

 

Key Responsibilities:  Performance of the school including daily running of the school, Pupil progress, Staffing and Personnel, Leadership of Senior Staff, Safeguarding, Designated Safeguarding Lead.

 

PAGE L

Miss Linda Page

BSc (Hons) Chemistry, PGCE
Deputy Headteacher

Miss Page studied Chemistry at The University of York. Following graduation she spent almost 9 years working in the commercial sector before returning to education. Her PGCE was completed at Warwick University, and she began working as a Science Teacher at South Bromsgrove High School, Worcester. Miss Page joined Arden in 2010 as a science teacher.  Other roles have included Key Stage Co-ordinator; Head of Science and now member of the Senior Leadership team. Miss Page holds a MLDP qualification and  is currently studying for the NPQH.

 

Key Responsibilities: Teaching & Learning, Quality Assurance, Curriculum Provision - schemes of work,  Google Suite & developing technologies.

 

HOOPER M

Mr Mark Hooper

BA (Hons) Sport & PE, PGCE
Deputy Headteacher 

Mr Hooper read Sport and Physical Education at the University of Birmingham and completed a PGCE at the University of Worcester. Prior to joining Arden Mr Hooper worked in numerous alternative provision facilities before beginning his teaching career as an NQT and teacher of PE in 2010.  He has extensive experience within the school pastoral system having been a Key Stage  co-ordinator and Assistant Principal responsible for the pastoral care of students.

 

Key Responsibilities: Student Welfare, Student Behaviour, Inclusion, Intervention, Designated Safeguarding Lead, Newly Qualified Teacher Induction Tutor, Rewards and Sanctions, Key Stage 4 Pathways. 

 

SIMPSON P

Mr Peter Simpson

BSc (Hons) Combined Studies (Mathematics and Psychology), PGCE
Assistant Headteacher - Head of Sixth Form

Mr Simpson studied Mathematics and Psychology at the University of Leicester. Following two years working with children on the autistic spectrum, he took his PGCE at the University of Birmingham. He has taught both mathematics and psychology for nearly 15 years. Since joining Arden 11 years ago he has been a Head of Year, Head of Key Stage and is currently Assistant Principal and Head of Sixth Form.

 

Key Responsibilities: Assistant Principal; Head of Sixth Form; Part of the Pastoral Management Team; Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead with responsibility for Prevent / Anti-Radicalisation.

 

 COLLETT E

Mrs Eleanor Collett

BA (Hons) History, PGCE
Assistant Headteacher - Standards

Having completed her schooling in London, Mrs Collett moved to Birmingham to study Medieval and Modern History at The University of Birmingham.  She also completed her PGCE at Birmingham after taking a year out to work in Property Management in London.  Mrs Collett began her teaching career teaching history at The Ellowes Hall School in Lower Gornal before joining Arden in 2004.  She was Head of History and Politics and whole-school Literacy Co-ordinator before taking up her current role in 2013.

 

Key Responsibilities: Teaching & Learning; Careers Education, Information & Guidance (CEIAG); Quality Assurance Lead; Arden Values; BTEC QN; Staff Training Co-ordinator, Newsletter Editor and Data Protection Privacy Officer.

 

KILBEY P

Mr Peter Kilbey

BEng (Hons) Aeronautical Engineering, PGCE
Assistant Headteacher - Data and Reporting

Mr Kilbey read Aeronautical Engineering at Salford University and began his career as a Stress Engineer working for Rolls-Royce. He also spent time working in the IT sector in Project Management before undertaking a PGCE course at Warwick University. Mr Kilbey began his teaching career at Lawrence Sheriff School in Rugby and then at Bournville School in Birmingham where he was promoted within the Mathematics Department. Mr Kilbey joined Arden in 2010 as Head of Mathematics before being promoted to his current role as Assistant Principal in 2013.

 

Key Responsibilities: Data Reporting & Assessment, Specific Teaching and Learning Projects, School Wide Data Use, Student Progress.

 

 

GUNN J

Mr James Gunn

BSc (Hons) Biological & Environmental Science, PGCE, PGCert, NPQML
Assistant Headteacher - Teacher Training and Development

Mr Gunn read Biological sciences at University of Warwick followed by a stint working in industry. He started his teaching career as an unqualified teacher in a challenging inner city school before returning to the University of Warwick to complete his PGCE. Mr Gunn continued to work at schools in deprived areas before moving to Arden in 2015. Outside of school Mr Gunn works as a CPD adviser for an educational charity.

 

Key Responsibilities: Teaching and Learning Development and Pedagogy, Initial Teacher Training and Development, Coaching, and STEM lead.

 

FALLIS A

Mrs Amy Fallis

BA (Hons) Geography, MA Geography in Education, PGCE, NPQH
Interim Assistant Headteacher

Mrs Fallis read Geography at the University of Oxford and remained there for her PGCE.  She began her teaching career at Chestnut Grove School in Balham, SW London, where she became Head of Geography and subsequently Head of Humanities.  During this time, she also gained an MA through the Institute of Education.  On relocating to the West Midlands in 2005, Mrs Fallis became an Assistant Headteacher at Caludon Castle School in Coventry, where she also completed her NPQH.  She moved to Arden in 2015 as a Teacher of Geography and returned to Senior Leadership in her current role in January 2019.

WHITE D

Mr Dan White

BA (Hons) English Literature; PGCE

Interim Assistant Headteacher

Mr White read English Literature at Lancaster University and then moved to the University of Warwick for his PGCE.  He began his teaching career at Kingswinford School before moving to New Zealand for a year abroad.  Upon Mr White’s return to the UK, he taught at Myton School in Warwick and was promoted to Second in Department.  He left to become Head of English at Arden in 2010 and was promoted to his current role in January 2019.
