Mr M Murphy

Chief Executive Officer

Mr Murphy read Geography at the University of Newcastle upon Tyne where he also completed his PGCE teacher training.  He taught in Northumberland and was then a Headteacher in Cumbria for 11 years before moving down to Solihull to take up the post of Principal of Arden in 2011.  He has extensive senior leadership experience and after leading Arden since 2011 is now Chief Executive Officer of Arden Multi Academy Trust.

 

Key Responsibilities: Policy and Strategic Direction of the Multi Academy Trust; Financial Accounting Officer; Personnel; Recruitment; Community Liaison; Facilities Management; Reporting to the Trust Board; Ofsted and School Improvement Priorities.

 WARWOOD D

Mr D Warwood

BSc (Hons) Sport & Exercise Science, PGCE, Special Ed. Needs & Inclusion Dip., NASENCO
Associate Headteacher

Mr Warwood studied Sports and Exercise Science at the University of Exeter before completing his PGCE at the University of Birmingham. He has followed a career in pastoral care and Inclusion ever since joining Arden as a teacher of physical education in 2004.  He has continued his own education by studying for a PgDip in Inclusion and Special Educational Needs at the University of Birmingham as well as completing the National Senco  Award at Edgehill university.  He is now studying for his National Professional Qualification for Headteachers (NPQH).

 

Key Responsibilities:  Performance of the school including daily running of the school, Pupil progress, Staffing and Personnel, Leadership of Senior Staff, Safeguarding, Designated Safeguarding Lead.

Miss L Page

BSc (Hons) Chemistry, PGCE, NPQH
Deputy Headteacher

Miss Page studied Chemistry at The University of York. Following graduation she spent almost 9 years working in the commercial sector before returning to education. Her PGCE was completed at Warwick University, and she began working as a Science Teacher at South Bromsgrove High School, Worcester. Miss Page joined Arden in 2010 as a science teacher.  Other roles have included Key Stage Co-ordinator; Head of Science and now member of the Senior Leadership team. Miss Page holds the National Professional Qualification for Head Teachers (NPQH).

 

Key Responsibilities: Pupil Progress, Teaching & Learning, School Timetable , Curriculum Provision, School Improvement, e-Learning and all on-line technologies.

 BURKE, N

Mr N Burke

BEd(Hons), NPQH
Deputy Headteacher 

Mr Burke read Physical Education with English at the University of St Mark and St John. Prior to joining Arden Mr Burke has worked in schools in Hackney, Small Heath and Solihull.  He has a broad experience having been a Head of Physical Education, Assistant Headteacher for assessment, recording and reporting and a pastoral Deputy Headteacher in another Arden Multi Academy Trust school. He has continued his own learning by achieving the National Professional Qualification for Headteachers (NPQH).

 

Key Responsibilities:  Student Behaviour, Designated Safeguarding Lead, Student Welfare, Year 6 Transition, Rewards and Sanctions, Pastoral Support Team. 

 

SIMPSON P

Mr P Simpson

BSc (Hons) Combined Studies (Mathematics and Psychology), PGCE
Assistant Headteacher - Personal Development 

Mr Simpson studied Mathematics and Psychology at the University of Leicester. Following two years working with children on the autistic spectrum, he took his PGCE at the University of Birmingham. He has taught both mathematics and psychology for nearly 20 years. Since joining Arden 16 years ago he has been a Head of Year, Head of Key Stage, Head of Sixth Form and is currently Assistant Headteacher in charge of Personal Development.

 

Key Responsibilities:  Personal and Character Development; Careers Education; Senior Mental Health Lead;  Part of the Pastoral Management Team; Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead with responsibility for Prevent / Anti-Radicalisation; Numeracy Lead.

 

 COLLETT E

Mrs E Collett

BA (Hons) History, PGCE
Assistant Headteacher - Teaching and Learning and CPD

Having completed her schooling in London, Mrs Collett moved to Birmingham to study Medieval and Modern History at The University of Birmingham.  She also completed her PGCE at Birmingham after taking a year out to work in Property Management in London.  Mrs Collett began her teaching career teaching history at The Ellowes Hall School in Lower Gornal before joining Arden in 2004.  She was Head of History and Politics and whole-school Literacy Co-ordinator before taking up her current role in 2013.

 

Key Responsibilities: Teaching & Learning strategy and development, Staff Training Co-ordinator, Newsletter Editor and Data Protection Privacy Officer.

 

 

GUNN J

Mr J Gunn

BSc (Hons) Biological & Environmental Science, PGCE, PGCert, NPQML
Assistant Headteacher - Teacher Training and Development

Mr Gunn read Biological sciences at University of Warwick followed by a stint working in industry. He started his teaching career as an unqualified teacher in a challenging inner city school before returning to the University of Warwick to complete his PGCE. Mr Gunn continued to work at schools in deprived areas before moving to Arden in 2015. Outside of school Mr Gunn works as a CPD adviser for an educational charity.

 

Key Responsibilities: Teaching and Learning Development and Pedagogy, Initial Teacher Training and Development, Coaching, and STEM lead.

 

WHITE D

Mr D White

BA (Hons) English Literature; PGCE

Assistant Headteacher - Head of Sixth Form

Mr White read English Literature at Lancaster University and then moved to the University of Warwick for his PGCE.  He began his teaching career at Kingswinford School before moving to New Zealand for a year abroad.  Upon Mr White’s return to the UK, he taught at Myton School in Warwick and was promoted to Second in Department.  He left to become Head of English at Arden in 2010 and was promoted to his current role in January 2019.

 

Key Responsibilities:  Assistant Headteacher; Head of Sixth Form; Part of the Teaching & Learning Team; responsible for Quality Assurance; responsible for Literacy and Homework.
