Message from Mr Warwood, Associate Headteacher, Arden Academy
It is a delight to be able to welcome you to Arden. We are thoroughly looking forward to meeting our incoming Year 7s over the course of our Induction Day, Summer School and then in September. We know, from experience, how successful these events are in supporting our new Year 7s with their transition to secondary school.
In joining Arden, you join our 'Arden Family'; the atmosphere of challenge, opportunity, care, support and aspiration are qualities that we feel make our school unique. The family ethos best describes the strong and trusting relationships that exist between parents / carers, staff and students. These relationships and our shared understanding ensure that our students receive a wonderfully rich and broad education.
The next 7 years will provide our incoming Year 7 with a wonderful array of opportunities both inside and outside of the classroom. Our lessons are demanding and challenging and are created as such to inspire a love of learning, as well as ensuring that our students from day one are on the right path to fulfilling their potential. Our staff body work tirelessly to ensure the best learning for our students, providing a calm and focussed learning environment.
Holistic development of our children is ensured through a range of opportunities, such as school visits to local galleries and museums, foreign travel to enrich language skills, participation in our fabulous concerts and productions, attending chess club or one of our many sporting clubs - you will find that Arden has a huge amount much to offer. It is these wider opportunities and activities that are often the places where lifelong friendships are formed.
Making a good first impression is important in any relationship; we encourage this from the very start of your Arden journey. Show the best version of yourself in all that you do and aspire to be better tomorrow than you are today. We are all learning and developing and as long as we are driven by our desire to continually improve, we firmly believe that we will achieve our potential.
As with any successful organisation, Arden has a culture of high expectations that underpin our environment. Please embrace these and support us in instilling and upholding these expectations. This will enable all of our children to flourish in a safe and respectful environment.
For now, please make the most of all of our transition activities. Enjoy the last term of Year 6 and the wonderful learning environments of your primary schools. Look forward to your transition to Arden with excitement; there really is so much for you to enjoy and embrace.
Have a lovely summer, we look forward to seeing you soon.
