Year 10 Numeracy Evening
Please find below the PowerPoints and questions/resources shared at the Year 10 Numeracy evening on Thursday 22 January 2015.
Thank you to those who were able to attend and I hope you found it useful.
If you could spare two minutes to provide feedback on the evening it would be appreciated - thank you to those who gave feedback on the night via post-it notes. There are just two feedback questions to complete please click here: http://goo.gl/forms/xQbaMFk9OD
We would like to encourage you all to support your child's numeracy at home by:
- continuing to take an interest in what they are doing in school with numeracy in all subjects
- being very positive about numeracy and its importance. Explaining that although we may all find it difficult at times that's great because it means we are learning new things.
- encourage and model a 'have a go' attitude - try working things out with your brain first, then pen and paper and lastly with a calculator.
- discuss numeracy at home in the context of 'real life'. For example, by explaining and discussing home finances, best buys, time etc
