Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council has a statutory duty to prepare an up-to-date Local Plan to guide the development of the Borough over the next 15-20 years, setting out where there are opportunities for new jobs, new homes to be built as well as considering the Green Belt boundary.
The Draft local plan will replace the current Local plan which the Council decided to review following the legal challenge to the housing requirement. The documents can be viewed below:
The deadline to respond to the Draft Local Plan Review has been extended to Friday 17 February.
SMBC is asking all residents, businesses, developers and the many other stakeholders to take a look at the Draft Local Plan Review here and submit comments via the online portal. There are opportunities to discuss the plan in person with Council officers working on the Review at the following locations throughout January:
Knowle Library – Saturday 14 January, 11am-3pm
Light Hall School – Monday 16 January, 6pm-8pm
Asda Shirley, Parkgate (in the café upstairs) – Monday 23 January, 10am-4pm
