Arden is delighted to announce that we have been awarded the British Council International School Award, which recognises our excellence in the area of international learning.
Arden would like to wish former student Jonathan Cunliffe good luck for his appearance on University Challenge which will be shown on BBC2 on Monday 1 September at 8pm.
Following on from last week's SUPERB A-level results, we are delighted to announce this year's GCSE success. Once again almost 100% of our pupils achieved 5 A*- C grades. Of these over 85% achieved the gold standard of 5 A*- C including English and Mathematics. Our students continue to excel at the top grades of A* and A. This has increased this year with almost a third of our students achieving these grades in 8 or more of their subjects.
The class of 2014 has performed incredibly well in their A Level examinations, with nearly two thirds of our students gaining the prestigious A*-B grades
Arden’s WW1 commemorations started in November and there have been many activities throughout the year. The culmination of these was a special event held on 27 June to acknowledge the 100th anniversary of the start of the War.
Arden students are the UK champions for the second year in the global 'Language Perfect' competition
As you may be aware, there have been reports in the local press regarding Arden flying the German flag outside the school, this was done to welcome our German Exchange students who are visiting us this week.
Arden is delighted to welcome the latest group of German students from Albert Einstein Schule who are taking part in the Year 9 exchange programme.
It is proposed that Arden Academy Trust converts to a multi-academy trust (MAT), meaning it can support more than one school.
A number of students in Year 8 and Year 9 are taking part in a Family Learning project about WW1. Students are doing research projects on either local or family stories from the Great War.
