Where does the time go? It seems hard to believe this school year has progressed so sufficiently that we are now entering the summer term. Every term is busy but for many students this one represents the culmination of many years of hard work as the examination season will soon be upon us. However, I am confident that each student will be supported by my outstanding team of colleagues who coach, guide and inspire all to achieve their personal best. Their professional expertise, stamina and endless patience are very evident and much appreciated.
I would like to take this opportunity to remind everyone that at the heart of Arden’s ethos is the aim to help students fulfil their academic, personal and social potential. To this end, we strive to provide exciting and challenging teaching, encouraging students to become independent learners able to express themselves confidently and equipped to function well in a variety of environments. We believe the key to this success is the provision of a curriculum that is commensurate with their abilities and aptitude yet stretches and challenges them in a positive way.

Following on from last week's SUPERB A-level results, we are delighted to announce this year's GCSE success. Once again almost 100% of our pupils achieved 5 A*- C grades. Of these over 85% achieved the gold standard of 5 A*- C including English and Mathematics. Our students continue to excel at the top grades of A* and A. This has increased this year with almost a third of our students achieving these grades in 8 or more of their subjects.
The class of 2014 has performed incredibly well in their A Level examinations, with nearly two thirds of our students gaining the prestigious A*-B grades
Arden’s WW1 commemorations started in November and there have been many activities throughout the year. The culmination of these was a special event held on 27 June to acknowledge the 100th anniversary of the start of the War.
