As we welcome the new academic year and look forward to its promise and potential, I would like to take a moment to reflect on Arden’s recent academic success as our ‘Class of 2014’ students achieved outstanding GCSE and A Level results. Once again almost 100% of Year 11 students achieved 5 A*- C grades and of these over 85% achieved the gold standard of 5 A*- C including English and Mathematics. At A Level, our students achieved a pass rate over 99% with nearly two thirds of our students gaining the prestigious A*-B grades. I would like to state how proud I am of each and every student, many of whom not only achieved their personal goals but exceeded them. I would like to thank my outstanding team of colleagues who inspired the students so successfully. Their professional expertise, stamina and endless patience are very evident and much appreciated.
I am delighted that many former Year 11 students have chosen to continue their studies at our very successful Sixth Form along with many external students, making the 2014 intake the highest to date. We are confident that students will enjoy excellent teaching, a pastoral support system that ensures every student is valued and the opportunity to fully embrace life at Arden.
Year 9 students will be leaving for their visit to Belgium
The school will be closed for the half-term holiday
Year 11 Parent Consultations will take place in the School hall. Please note: school closes to students at 2.15pm
Arden's Open Evening held on Wednesday 24 September was a huge success!
After her GCSEs, Esther Lau-Mackaay now an Arden Sixth Former walked 160 kilometres over four consecutive days. Her superb achievement was recognised by her receiving a 'Young Hero' award from Knowle & Dorridge Round Table.
Congratulations to William Maidment in Year 7 who has just been awarded the Knowle and Dorridge Round Table Young Hero Award
